National Squash Centre

Kuala Lumpur Sports City

The National Squash Centre was the venue for squash events during the Kuala Lumpur '98 - XVI Commonwealth Games.

A permanent seating capacity of 1,000, the centre-court has walls made of reinforced armour plated (12mm thick) glass which can be easily moved for single or doubles events.

The 10 units side courts can be converted into eight doubles-courts with a capacity for 70 spectators per court. The upper level accommodates a players' lounge and changing rooms. The management's office, doping control room and medical room are sited at the lower level.

Other facilities include a conference room and a press centre. Smaller scoreboards are positioned at each of the ten side courts.

In 2009, the squash centre court was named "Nicol David Arena". The awarding of the name is in recognition to Nicol's contribution in promoting the country's name on the international stage in the sport of squash.
